SA Round 2 IPRASA “Michael Rooke Memorial” Round

Date 18 May 2013

Round 2 will be a special round for the IPRASA, with the inaugural Michael Rooke Memorial Race being conducted.

This will consist of Race 2 being for the Michael Rooke memorial Trophy for the Outright Race Winner and the Michael Rooke Platter for the Under 2L winner.

More info will be added as it comes available, including entry forms etc.

Hopefully we can give enough time and info for interstate competitors to come over and join us.

V8 Supercar support race August 24–26

V8 Supercar support race August 24–26

I have just confirmed with the ARDC that Improved Production will be on the support programe for the rescheduled V8 Supercar event at the creek August 24,25,26th.

At this stage the cost will be approx $950 which includes entry fee and a powered marquee site (compulsory). There will be 1 x practice , 1 x Qlf & 3 races. It will be a combined grid of unders and overs and any IPRA member for any club is welcome. I think the grid capacity is 50 so hopefully we will get close to filling it. Please remeber this is a V8 event and there are no guarantees that we will get all track time that has be scheduled, thats life in the big world.

For any members that would like to attend Michael’s Celebration of Life”, please find the details.
THE RELATIVES and FRIENDS of Mr MICHAEL BRUCE ROOKE are invited to attend His Celebration of Life, to be held on SATURDAY June 9, 2012 in the Magarey Room, First Floor, AAMI Stadium, Turner Drive, West Lakes at 2.00 p.m. Ample parking will be available within the Stadium grounds. A few members have organized a get together after Michael’s “Celebration of Life” at the Directors Hotel. This was deemed the best location as it is where the club meetings are held and therefore members should know and be able to attend.

It is with great sadness that the IPRASA wish to pass on our condolences to the Rooke family and friends after Michael’s passing at round two of the SAMRC. A much loved competitor and friend of many, a true gentleman who will be sadly missed.

Well done to the SA boys Mark Ruta & Chris Brown at Bathurst this week end. Looks as they both can bring their cars home in one piece after what looked like some good racing. Well done also to Ray Hislop in lowering the lap record by a substantial amount.

Our first Club Meeting of the year is nearly upon us, so be sure to join us @ 8:00pm on the 23 January at the Directors Hotel, 247 Gouger Street, Adelaide SA 5000.

Be sure to attend and renew your club membership before the start of the 2012 season if you haven’t already done so.

Remember that you need to be a financial member to receive points towards the IPRASA point score.
